摘要: On the basis of data derived from China's 2005 1% population sample survey, this paper examines regional and personal factors that shape locations chosen by interprovincial skilled migrants. It aims to evaluate relative weight employment opportunities, amenities, ownership structure economy in determining migrants' destination choices, extent which such place-based work differently among different types individuals. The results indicate migration is driven mainly interregional income differentials variations amenities play a less important role regard. Furthermore, compared with college diploma holders, bachelor's degree holders are more responsive wage levels sensitive risk unemployment, whereas those managerial professional occupations without hukou at destinations wages possibilities.
