摘要: Benthic communities below the euphotic zone are strictly dependent on food supply through water column, with only few exceptions at hot vents and cold seeps. The magnitude of this organic carbon is mainly determined by temporal spatial patterns export flux pelagic primary production from zone. In contrast to northern Pacific, where a sequence ecosystems exists along latitudinal gradient, in Greenland-Iceland-Norwegian Seas (GIN Seas) north ofIceland two very different environments present: regimes separated meridionally exposed same external forcing solar radiation. At eastern boundary GIN influence Gulf Stream results an environment similar that found lower latitudes well documented for biological processes column (v. Bodungen et al. 1995) seafloor (Graf 1995). Seasonal ice-cover together hydrographic nutrient conditions define continental margin East Greenland as typical polar environment.
