摘要: An epoxy based on the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) has been modified with poly(phenylene oxide) (PPO) and cured piperidine. two-phase alloy resulted, in which DGEBA was continuous phase. Several PPO loadings were investigated. The tensile yield strengths these PPO-modified epoxies found to be independent content. In contrast, fracture toughness improved content a linear fashion. micromechanical mechanism responsible for improvement consist crack bifurcation microcracking. Some evidence particle bridging also observed, it is thought that may play an important role formation microcracked damage zone.
