摘要: Abstract Thermoplastic polymer matrix composites are used as coating materials for the bore of downhole tubulars water injectors in oil industry. These coatings primarily employed corrosion resistance but must also resist mechanical damage from inspection tools lowered at speed down tubing. This is produced by wearing action supporting wire against (wireline wear) and direct impact tool coating. Filler added to these polymeric additions known affect wear In this study, three types thermoplastic were subjected tests. Both abrasive tests — using silicon carbide papers abrasive, wireline tests, utilising a true tribocouple consisting length “slickline” on modified pin disc apparatus carried out study coatings. Detailed scanning electron microscopy was performed tracks elucidate mechanism particular role fillers. with brittle filler has higher rate than an unfilled due fact that fillers can be easily fractured detached matrix. general, weak bond between leads particles detaching causing enhanced wear. presence voids unmelted particularly deleterious.
