摘要: Large-scale, three-dimensional numerical simulations of the deflagration stage a thermonuclear supernova explosion show formation and evolution highly convoluted turbulent flame in gravitational field an expanding carbon-oxygen white dwarf. The dynamics are dominated by gravity-induced Rayleigh-Taylor instability that controls burning rate. releases enough energy to produce healthy explosion. flame, however, leaves large amounts unburned partially burned material near star center, whereas observations imply these materials present only outer layers. This disagreement could be resolved if triggers detonation.
