摘要: In recent years, considerable effort has been directed towards the synthesis of conjugated polymers with low optical band gaps (Eg), since they show intrinsic electrical conductivity. One approaches designing such is use strong donor and acceptor monomers at regular arrangements in repeating units, which limited success many cases. An alternate strategy organic dyes, having inherently HUMO–LUMO separation, as building blocks. Extension conjugation dyes therefore expected to result oligomers near infrared absorption, a signature gaps. Squaraine are ideal candidates for this purpose due their unique properties. This review highlights developments area donor–acceptor type gap special emphasis on polysquaraines.
