摘要: Background/Purpose Iodine deficiency causes a broad spectrum of disorders across all ages. Mandatory salt iodization in Taiwan successfully reduced the goiter rate from 21.6% to 4.3% schoolchildren surveyed 1971. The program continued until 2003 when was changed mandatory voluntary. purpose this study investigate iodine status Taiwanese individuals after change policy. Methods Urinary (UI) measured samples adults Nutrition and Health Survey 2005–2008. Results median UI level 100 μg/L, percentage populations with levels below 100 μg/L 50 μg/L 50.1% 15.1%, respectively, indicating that borderline adequate. Men had higher than women (102 μg/L vs. 98 μg/L, p = 0.003), older (age > 60 years) lower younger people, particularly women. population Conclusion nutrition 2005–2008 adequate, insufficiency some subgroups. Further monitoring is necessary.
