摘要: Obesity has reached near epidemic proportions in the developed world. As reproductive age women are a part of this trend, effect maternal obesity on developing fetus must be investigated. In review, we evaluated experimental evidence relating nutritional status and eating behavior before during pregnancy risk offspring. The studies were compiled selected based their methodologies, study design relevance. analyzed to quantify, if possible, relationship between offspring weight. Descriptive observational also included they seminal field. Based current data, is critical factor exacerbating multigenerational obesity. Mechanistic studies, mainly animals, have identified potential areas for intervention which might limit transmission adverse factors from mothers infants pregnancy.
