摘要: [Abstract Late Paleocene to Middle Eocene strata in the easternmost part of Southern Pyrenees, up 4 km thick, provide information on tectono‐sedimentary evolution faults transversal Pyrenean chain. To know how changes tectonic plate processes control structural transverse and synchronous thickness lithological distribution sedimentary a foreland basin, field observations, interpretation 2D seismic lines tied lithostratigraphic data exploration wells gravity modelling constrains were carried out. This resulted following two phases basin: first phase, dominated by extensional faulting, with deposition marine carbonates (ca. 57 51 Ma); second characterized contractional coeval accumulation transitional siliciclastics (51 44 Ma). During Iberia Adria moving east west respectively. Therefore, lithospheric flexure Iberian was developed due that Sardinia over‐thrusting Iberia. Consequently, activation E‐dipping normal generated giving rise thick‐deep thin‐shallow carbonate platform deposits across hanging walls footwalls structures. shearing interaction between prevailed re‐activating as structures generating thin‐shelf thick‐submarine fan In transition phases, evaporitic conditions basin suggesting restriction.
