摘要: "Selfish" genetic elements promote their own transmission to the next generation, often at a cost host individual. A sex-ratio (SR) driving X chromosome prevents maturation of Y-bearing sperm, and as result is transmitted 100% offspring, all which are female. Because spread SR can in female-biased population sex ratio, ecological evolutionary consequences harboring this selfish element be severe. In study, we show that prevalence drive Drosophila neotestacea varies between 0% 30% among populations, common south whereas rare north. The not associated with presence suppressors drive, geographic distance, or distance based on autosomal microsatellite loci. Instead, our results indicate selection highly correlated climatic factors, severity winter best determinant frequency. Thus, demographic factors may have significant for short long term dynamics manner they coevolve rest genome.
