Taxonomic significance of monoecism and dioecism in the genus Chara

摘要: Abstract Attempts were made to fertilize the female gametes of eleven separate clones dioecious Chara by sperm from morphologically similar, but monoecious, plants. Most attempts unsuccessful, in some instances it was found possible eggs C. australis monoecious corallina, preissii gymnopitys, and connivens globularis. Subsequent efforts germinate resulting hybrid oospores largely unsuccessful; very few germlings obtained, without exception latter proved incapable further reproductive success. Monoecism dioecism appear be reliable indicators isolation within Charophyta.
