摘要: Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) rats have an inherited disease the retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE), which shows a greatly reduced capacity to phagocytize shed terminal portion outer segment rod photoreceptor cell (Mullen & LaVail, 1976). This failure in symbiotic relationship these two cells results accumulation membrane debris at interface between cells, and lack normal nutriture renewal leads death all photoreceptors by about 65 days pink-eyed dystrophies 100 black-eyed (LaVail Battelle, 1975).
