摘要: Stem cells transplantation is a promising therapy for numerous diseases where transplanted repair or replace damaged host tissue. While their efficacy and optimal delivery under intense investigation, there lies pivotal question seeking the whereabouts of after transplantation. Imaging techniques have emerged in recent years, both to enable monitoring stem cell location patients improve reliability animal experimentation. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows tracking tagged with magnetic nanoparticle labels prior transplantation, but restricted by inability incorporate sufficient label. This review addresses optimisation tagging iron oxide particles MR tracking, alternative labelling using gene transfer, translational applications cellular imaging.
