摘要: Abstract Background Discovering the biological basis of bipolar disorder has been focus studies in recent years. Alterations platelet parameters were found to be associated with episodes disorder. This study aimed compare differences especially mass index as an inflammation marker between patients mania and healthy controls. Methods 68 male inpatients manic 60 age-gender matched controls included study. Platelet index, mean volume counts compared patients. Results group was significantly higher than (p = 0.002). Statistically significant difference also observed groups terms 0.012). For counts; there no statistically significant control 0.171). Limitation The limitations this is that, not measured after subsided. Other are relatively small sample size, cross-sectional nature lacking data about other cardiovascular marker, lack longitudinal outcomes multiple drugs effects lifestyle factors. Conclusion reflects functionality thought a useful parameter for plaque formation capacity platelets. In our study, we have shown increment activation episode controls; which may reflect process status
