摘要: Abstract Background Quick diagnosis units (QDUs) are a promising alternative to conventional hospitalization for the of suspected serious diseases, most commonly cancer and severe anemia. Although QDUs as effective in reaching timely diagnosis, full economic evaluation comparing both approaches has not been reported. Aims To evaluate costs QDU vs. anemia using cost-minimization analysis on proven assumption that health outcomes were equivalent. Methods Patients referred Bellvitge University Hospital Barcelona over 51 months with final (unrelated malignancy), lymphoma, lung compared patients hospitalized workup same diagnoses.
