摘要: The history of heavy metal pollution in southern Sydney was reconstructed from wetland sediments using chemical analysis. Seven wetlands along the Pacific coast were examined for present day concentrations acid-extractable Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb and Zn. Additionally, four these sites cored order to assess past levels contaminants, changes organic content magnetic susceptibility variations. low nutrient status closed catchments study suggested that pollutants predominantly derived atmospheric sources. Surficial enriched with Zn 5.0, 16.4, 22.7, 8.2 22.5 times baseline levels, respectively. In some cases, trace metals excess environmentally acceptable levels. results show a strong spatial association between sources pollutants, increase sedimentary records corresponds well documentary historical evidence. This demonstrates utility coastal reconstruction histories, their particular vulnerability contamination airborne urban areas.
