摘要: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a common disease with oral ulceration in which cytokines are thought to play an important role. High levels of interleukin (IL)-6, pro-inflammatory cytokine have been detected the circulation ulcer tissue. The purpose present study was investigate if IL-6 gene polymorphisms associated RAS or clinical characteristics cohort Turkish population. 184 patients and 150 healthy controls were included study. genotypes −572G>C −174G>C determined using polymerase chain reaction based restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. genotype frequencies showed statistically significant differences between (p = 0.01). Frequencies GG + GC G allele found higher 0.0001, OR 10.8, 95 % CI 2.79–70.5; p 0.0008, 2.06, 1.35–3.17, respectively). also C loci significantly 0.011). Susceptibility effects both for observed. Further studies necessary prove association RAS.
