摘要: Although the Red Sea is considered as a center of endemism and ‘hotspot’ biodiversity, ascidian fauna (Chordata, Ascidiacea) region has been poorly studied. The current study provides review literature concerning Sea, including Gulf Aqaba Suez, an updated species list based on extensive field sampling museum data, analysis diversity rates Ascidiacea Sea. inventory lists 73 species, belonging to 13 families. majority records are colonial typical tropical regions. Representatives 30 available at National Collections Natural History Tel Aviv University. Only 12 (17 %) ascidians were found be endemic region, whereas have extra Indo-Pacific distribution. Eight recorded for first time from this region. Suez represent northern boundary natural distribution in study. However, several successfully entered Mediterranean through Canal. This certainly incomplete emphasizes need increase effort group, additional taxonomic studies highly diverse rich
