摘要: We demonstrated an effective way of preparing melt spinnable mesophase pitches via catalytic hydrogenation petroleum residue (fluidized cracking-decant oil) and their subsequent thermal soaking. The thus obtained were analyzed in terms viscosity, elemental composition, solubility, molecular weight, softening point optical texture. found that zeolite-induced under high hydrogen pressure contributed to a large variation the properties pitches. As increased, C/H ratio decreased, solubility n-hexane increased. pitch with entirely anisotropic domains flow texture exhibited good melt-spinnability. carbon fibers from catalytically hydrogenated showed moderate mechanical properties.
