摘要: Abstract Background: The role of aeroallergens in the production allergic contact dermatitis or "allergic dermatitis-like" atopic is controversial. Although techniques and allergens lack standardization, most studies find positive patch test results 30% to 40% patients with dermatitis. Objective: Our purpose was determine prevalence clinical significance aeroallergen tests undergoing standard testing for suspected "nonaeroallergen" Methods: One hundred three consecutive referred university clinics were also tested six common glycerine—dust, mold, cat epithelium, tree, grass, weed—as well as a glycerine control. Patches removed at 48 hours. Readings performed this time 3 7 days after initial application. Results: As determined by history, these 103 included 16 both mucosal atopy, 10 only, 22 atopy 55 neither nor atopy. Allergic reactions seen one five (three allergy, two no history atopy). (3 [18.8%]) allergy significantly greater than (2 87 [2.3%]) only disorders ( p = 0.02). None hypersensitivities deemed significant patients' current However, past relevance allergy. Conclusion: In referral group, none relevant origin This study suggests that little use evaluation routine Similar but larger inclusive assessment relevance, masked controlled trials assessing effect exposure avoidance, are needed evaluate issue more fully.
