摘要: This report describes research results from the first year of a three-year study focused on use recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and crushed concrete (CC) as backfill for mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. The design procedures MSE walls are reviewed. current Texas Department Transportation (TxDOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) specifications described critical properties identified. geotechnical engineering durability issues related to using RAP CC discussed. Based information collected, most likely be hydraulic conductivity creep potential RAP. issue is corrosion metallic reinforcement. uses in transportation-related projects described, performance incorporating generally reported good. Characterization samples throughout state was carried out indicated that meets gradation, Atterberg limits, pH, resistivity. However, did not meet pH Bulk CC, well conventional fill material (CFM), were obtained future testing. Compaction testing these materials dry density each very sensitive water content.
