摘要: Mathematical models have been widely applied to surface waters estimate rates of settling, resuspension, flow, dispersion, and advection in order calculate movement particles that influence water quality. Of particular interest are the movement, survival, persistence microbial pathogens or their surrogates, which may contaminate recreational water, drinking shellfish. Most devoted quality focused on fecal indicator organisms (FIO), act as a surrogate for viruses. Process-based modeling statistical used track contamination events source predict future events. The use these two types require different levels expertise input; process-based rely theoretical physical constructs explain present conditions biological distribution while data-based, extant paired data do same. selection appropriate model interpretation results is critical proper tools tracking. Integration approaches could provide insight tracking predicting real time. A review efforts reveals has great promise efforts; further, combining understanding processes influencing FIO developed with molecular characterization population by gene-based (i.e., biological) chemical markers be an effective approach locating sources remediating protect human health better.
