All Useful Plants Have Not Only Identities, but Stories: The Mythical Origins of the Peach Palm (Bactris Gasipaes Kunth) According to the Peruvian Ashaninka

摘要: In this paper we present a myth about the origins of peach palm (Bactris gasipaes Kunth), recorded during research project dedicated to landscape domestication and management palms by Ashaninka people Amazonian Peru. This is most likely outcome cross-fertilization between European Christian Amerindian traditions colonial times, but which must have undergone significant changes 'indianization' process. The provides an excellent starting point for discussing relationships with non-humans environment ways transmitting ethnoecological knowledge, as well importance sharing food. It also relevant in explaining purposes Ashaninka, their knowledge participation dispersal palm. We conclude that utilization only one facet relationship kiri people.
