摘要: The treatment of isolated articular cartilage lesions remains a difficult clinical problem. Cartilage has poor intrinsic capacity for repair. Untreated persist indefinitely and can predispose affected joints to pain dysfunction. Fortunately, the options these continue evolve expand. However, validated approach such elusive. Decision making in circumstances is highly variable between practitioners. We describe an patient with symptomatic lesion. Consideration certain parameters, including lesion size, location, demand, body mass index, limb alignment, history should be considered when selecting surgical approach. In addition, surgeons understand physiology repair method employed how this relates postoperative rehabilitation program. strategies are classified into following: enhancement response, cell-based, scaffold-based, cell plus whole tissue transplantation. A algorithm based on (primary vs secondary) presented.
