摘要: Mormon crickets form large migratory bands that march over rangeland in the western United States seeking salt and protein. Immune defence is particularly relevant to survival bands, but little known about role of nutrition insect immunocompetence. We hypothesised immune defences are compromised these due nutrient limitations. 2. In a band Utah, we investigated whether access protein relative carbohydrate diet would immediately reduce activity, as had been shown for previous study Idaho, enhance responses. 3. Body mass-adjusted declined marginally following diet, whereas spontaneous phenoloxidase (PO) enhanced by same diet.
