摘要: When different life stages have environmental tolerances, development needs to be regulated so that each stage experiences conditions are suitable for it, if fitness is maintained. Restricting the timing of developmental transitions occur under specific combinations therefore adaptively important. However, impeding can itself incur demographic and costs. How do organisms regulate physiological processes they broadest range permissive conditions?
