摘要: The mid-wave infrared (MWIR) is an important band for numerous applications ranging from night vision to biochemical sensing. However, unlike visible or near-infrared (NIR) optical parts, which are economically available off the shelf, MWIR optics plagued by much higher costs and often inferior performance compared their NIR counterparts. Optical metasurfaces, artificial materials with subwavelength-scale thicknesses on-demand electromagnetic responses, provide a promising solution cost-effective, high-performance optics. Using high-refractive-index (> 5) chalcogenide deposited on IR-transparent substrates, we have experimentally demonstrated transmissive metasurface device diffraction-limited focusing imaging efficiency up 75%. We further show that design can accommodate ultra-wide field-of-view fabrication method be extended conformal integration of curved surfaces. projected size, weight power advantages, coupled manufacturing scalability leveraging standard microfabrication technologies, makes meta-optical devices next-generation system applications.
