摘要: Microbial populations living in environments with temperatures above 50oC (thermophiles) have been widely studied, increasing our knowledge the composition and function of these ecological communities. Since express a broad number heat-resistant enzymes (thermozymes), they also represent an important source for novel biocatalysts that can be potentially used industrial processes. The integrated study whole-community DNA from environment, known as metagenomics, coupled development next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, has allowed large amounts data thermophiles. In this review, we summarize main approaches commonly utilized assessing taxonomic functional diversity thermophiles through including several bioinformatics tools some metagenome-derived methods to isolate their thermozymes.
