摘要: The Strategic Plan for Biodiversity (2011–2020), adopted at the 10th meeting of Conference Parties to Convention on Biological Diversity, sets 20 Aichi Targets be met by 2020 address biodiversity loss and ensure its sustainable equitable use. Target 11 describes what an improved conservation network would look like marine, terrestrial inland water areas, including freshwater ecosystems. To date, there is no comprehensive assessment needs achieved meet biodiversity. Reports implementation often fail consider explicitly ecosystem processes habitats, pressures upon them, therefore full range requirements actions needed sustain them. Here current progress key gaps are assessed exploring implications each clauses Concerted action required in a number areas: robust baseline described here national global scales; designation new protected areas or expansion existing cover known importance services, representative sample biodiversity; use Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs) places where designating area not appropriate; promoting implementing better management strategies fresh that inherent connectivity, contextual vulnerability, human technical capacity. Considering specific systems through has long-term value Sustainable Development Goals discussions policy agenda into coming decades. Copyright
