Oldest glosselline linguliform brachiopod with soft parts from the Lower Cambrian of Yunnan, Southern China

摘要: Lingulella chengjiangensis Jin, Huo & Wang, 1993 is one of the most abundant brachiopods from celebrated Lower Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte. A detailed study new well-preserved specimens clearly shows that their morphology and preserved soft anatomy differ widely linguliforms subfamily Obolinae, including Lingulella. L. herein re-described as probable earliest member Glossellinae, which was previously known only Ordovician, referred to genus Eoglossa. Eoglossa differs species in lacking a dorsal pseudointerarea, having an elevated ventral proparea without flexure lines, lack pitting on visceral areas both valves. The exceptionally E. also reveals it bears unique musculature, includes single umbonal scar pair posterolateral scars each valve. material E....
