摘要: We report new and highly accurate quantum mechanical calculations of the astrophysically interesting scattering H+ by H atoms. The effects indistinguishability two protons are treated consistently throughout, including calculation momentum transfer cross section where elastic charge cannot be separated at low energies. able to resolve numerous oscillations in energy variation angle-integrated sections. With decreasing below 1 eV, grow amplitude until a smooth, approximately 1/v2 dependence on velocity is reached 10-5 eV. 1/v behavior, traditionally associated with constant Langevin rate coefficient, never realized down lowest calculated (10-10 eV). use calculate accurately transport coefficient that characterizes drag force between ionic neutral fluids strength ambipolar diffusion heating for temperatures ion-neutral drift speeds relevant astrophysical applications. An early fit this Draine sustained except application these results role jets from young stellar objects discussed.
