摘要: In this chapter we review the various suggested channels for formation and evolution of blue straggler stars (BSSs) in different environments their observational predictions. These include mass transfer during binary stellar - case A/B/C D (wind Roche-lobe overflow) transfer, collisions single encounters dense cluster, coupled dynamical triple systems. We also explore importance BSS dynamics clusters. observed properties BSSs (halo bulge BSSs, globular clusters old open clusters), compare current observations with theoretical predictions formation. try to constrain likely progenitors processes that play a role evolution. find multiple are take part producing point out strengths weaknesses each channel respect constraints. Finally directions further origin BSS, highlight eclipsing as important tool.
