摘要: Abstract Background: A common misperception is that the vascularity of a tumor can be determined by its gross appearance. Neurofibromas are grossly white in The degree neurofibromas has not been determined. Objective: purpose this study was to determine extent neovascularization neurofibromas. Methods: from patients with neurofibromatosis-1 or spontaneous were stained antibodies against von Willebrand factor (factor VIII–related antigen) and vascular endothelial growth (VEGF). Results: Neurofibromas, both congenital, exhibit high vascularity. In addition, perivascular cells stain VEGF, an angiogenic factor. Conclusion: despite their appearance, highly vascular. Their may mediated, part, through VEGF. (J Am Acad Dermatol 1998;39:950-4.)
