摘要: The molecular processes underlying carcinogenesis and malignant spread are the foundation of future drug development for treatment cancer. Understanding these requires study interaction complex biologic systems in a way that spatially temporally recapitulates seen humans. Likewise, once an anticancer agent is developed, its intended antitumor action unintended side-effects must be studied rigorous reproducible manner prior to introduction into clinic, process can benefit from methods elucidate specific performed serially. Recent advances small-animal models cancer, radiochemistry single photon emitting radionuclides, emission tomography systems, image reconstruction techniques have set stage ever-increasing use SPECT SPECT/CT preclinical oncology-related applications. Several as well several applications oncology highlighted areas needing further improvement identified.
