摘要: Abstract Background Psychological Strain Scales (PSS) were developed to measure four types of strain comprising value strain, deprivation aspiration and coping strain. This study aimed evaluate the psychometric properties Chinese version 40-item PSS in suicide attempters community controls rural China. Methods Data this came from investigation 132 their paired matched with same sex, age (±3 years) residence five counties Shandong, The PSS, Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), Trait Anxiety Inventory (TAI) Self-esteem (SES) administered reliability test validity conducted. Results Cronbach's α Guttman Spilt-Half coefficient was 0.942 0.842 attempters, 0.950 0.874 controls. For both controls, Exploratory Factor Analysis indicated a one-factor structure each scale, which accorded original factor proposed by authors. scores total subscales positively correlated CES-D TAI; negatively score SES, good performance convergent validity. Limitations limited its generalizability urban population. Conclusions has satisfactory terms
