摘要: Summary Modeling the resource manager of an ultra wide band (UWB) network is main object this paper. The model tested in two different application scenarios: (i) a UWB WLAN access to backbone where management module implemented at points (APs); (ii) ad hoc for either local communications or data exchange among sensors, with peer-to-peer links distributed management. design must include quality service (QoS)-aware strategy and take into account coexistence issues raised by use physical layer. Link represented maximum end-to-end delay minimum percentage correct packets. From these parameters, jointly selects values power rate which be adopted In model, radiated each device supposed limited upper bound, reflecting thus limitation imposed regulation. QoS awareness constraints are satisfied, thanks implementation admission control function, centralized AP case case. Major innovative aspects include: taking specific features; introducing based on layer parameters rather than parameters; (iii) incorporating error protection functionalities optimization transmission efficiency; (iv) considering both Performance proposed evaluated presence classes traffic, that multimedia, voice, traffic. For class performance expressed terms possible number simultaneous connections case, effective achievable throughput Results simulations indicate behavior scheme strongly dependent upon traffic scenario, while it slightly affected changes characteristics Copyright # 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
