摘要: This thesis deals with effects of climate on tree growth the dominating conifer species, Picea abies (L) Karst. (Norway spruce) and Pinus sylvestris L (Scots pine), in central Norway Fennoscandia. Both species are sampled along major environmental gradients, i.e. altitude oceanicity, responses to climate, temperature precipitation, examined these gradients. Additionally, time is considered as an gradient temporal carefully deciphered. Special attention given large-scale oscillation their effect growth. In individual papers specific aims have been to:1. identify variables (all seasons) significant influence radial P. gradients (Paper I-IV)2. if how response has changed through I-IV)3. make interregional comparisons pattern across Fennoscandia from oceanic western continental eastern Finland III)4. analyse what degree circulation patterns air masses registered regional both I, III IV)5. discuss possible a predicted warmer IV)
