摘要: The production of bromine monoxide (BrO) from seawater and its influence in catalytically depleting stratospheric boundary layer ozone at high latitudes have been well established. In India the study BrO has so far limited to relatively short-term measurements, even though Indian mainland a coastline length 6100 km is surrounded by Arabian Sea, Ocean Bay Bengal, all probable major sources BrO. this variation vertical column density (VCD) was examined using data derived Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) Scanning Imaging Absorption Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography (SCIAMACHY) instruments period 1996 2008. columns are found be anticorrelated with total column, increase an latitude, display small interannual seasonal variation, increasing trend over Ahmedabad Chennai, mixed Ocean, Jharia Kolkata decreasing New Delhi Kanpur.
