摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the molecular aspects of glucagon physiology: The structure and superfamily genes cell-specific expression regulation gene. As gene in eukaryotes is mainly controlled at level transcription initiation, experiments were first performed to characterize promoter enhancers Cis-acting DNA control elements localized within 5’ flanking region, which interaction with trans-acting factors promote cell specificity response physiological changes. Comparison mechanisms involved different endodermally-derived tissues will shed some light embryonic development endocrine pancreas islet differentiation. Secondly, as dysregulation characteristic diabetes still incompletely understood, additional studies modulation by insulin and/or glucose be necessary enlighten physiology pathophysiology islets Langerhans.
