摘要: This study assesses at the global scale potential costs and benefits of new infrastructure needed for additional supply irrigation water, focusing on rainwater harvesting, desalination groundwater extraction. The cost applicability each measure is assessed estimated separately. benefit water given by shadow price, which generated land use model MAgPIE (Model Agricultural Productivity its Impact Environment). Based these results (in Mha) calculated. We find that extraction cost-efficient in most places therefore has highest (152.5 followed harvesting (61.5 (0.5 Mha). reflect current practice supplying a sensitivity analysis shows largest to alleviate scarcity through decreasing prices. also if price desalinated continues decline as it past, could become efficient especially arid, coastal regions world.
