Fabrication and laser performance of polycrystal and single crystal Nd:YAG by advanced ceramic processing

摘要: We report the first demonstration of polycrystalline Nd-doped YAG ceramics with almost perfect pore-free structure and single crystal by advanced ceramic processing. The laser conversion efficiency Nd:YAG is extremely high its optical quality comparable to that commercial crystal. Moreover, we have succeeded also in fabrication crystal, which enables oscillation, solid-state reaction method. Laser oscillation was very low when pores were remained inside however slightly higher than having grain boundaries. From this fact, it found scattering occurs mainly at residual boundary little. In addition, confirmed concentration can be fabricated sintering
