摘要: All over Europe, wetlands have decreased in size, lost their original dynamics and became fragmented as the consequence of an ever increasing human land use. These processes resulted losses nature values, among which declines marshland bird populations. Ecological restoration wetland systems follows from initiatives like EU Bird Habitat Directives Water Framework Directive, but may be, itself, too costly to be widely applied. More promising perspectives reinforce part ecological network Natura 2000 might come into focus when combined with spatial water management is primarily aimed at more sustainable safety against flooding. In this way, acquire a wider public political support. Knowledge on scale-related habitat use birds can play role process planning. We illustrate point by distinguishing four levels temporal birds, giving examples for each. The are: (1) stopover sites during migration, (2) territorial breeding (3) colonial (4) staging wintering sites. This asks coherence different scales, e.g. international level migration flyways, regional landscapes local individual wetlands. It advocated that ecologists dedicate themselves specifically quantifying relevant data each these scale levels. Meanwhile, planners should try incorporate them efforts realising combinations or rehabilitation solutions management. turn tide some seriously threatened species birds.
