摘要: Six cloned astrocytoma cell lines derived from four ethylnitrosourea-induced F-344 rat gliomas were viewed by scanning electron microscopy in vitro, and two examined vivo after transplantation to the intracerebral site. All clones consisted of stellate cells that reasonably homogeneous within individual glioma lines. Cell membrane features common all tumor included microvilli, blebs, ruffles, miniridges, mainly confined perikarya, filopodia emanating chiefly processes. One line demonstrated a profuse, another moderate, degree microvillous development surface roughening, which one correlated with rapid vitro doubling time. Both maintained these topographical appearances when transplanted into brain. These results extend SEM observations astrocytomas, particularly tumors rats. They confirm distinct variations topography do occur among this type, probably irrespective their origin humans or rats, mode genesis as spontaneous, chemically-induced, virallyinduced tumors.
