Whose Gender Equality? On the Boundaries of Islam and Feminism in the MENA Region

摘要: In contemporary Muslim postcolonial countries, the term gender equality resonates as an appealing international principle for many politicians. However, Islamist and conservative forces, triggers suspicion hostility on ground that it serves a western product infringes cultural specificities threatens gendered parameters of family.
