摘要: Bryonolic acid (BA) is a triterpenoid found in the Cucurbitaceae family of plants. Our interests immunomodulatory effects this class natural products led us to discover that BA induces marked increase expression phase 2 response enzyme, heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1), dose-dependent manner. This phenotype has translational implications malarial disease progression, and consequently we developed large-scale isolation method for will enable future vitro vivo analyses. We have determined ideal growth conditions time scale maximizing content roots Cucurbita pepo analyzed production by HPLC. Large-scale extraction yielded 1.34% based on dry weight, allowing multigram scale.
