Magnetic Bistability and Thermochromism in a Molecular CuII Chain

摘要: An original magnetic bistability and a thermochromic transition are observed in new CuII molecular chain. Thermal structural studies reveal changes the coordination sphere, driven by more pronounced Jahn−Teller effect at low temperature. These distortions provoke gradual color change. The study 10 K shows dimerization of chain, agreement with abrupt 30 K.
