Professional learning communities: An analysis of teacher participation in a PLC and the relationship with student academic achievement

摘要: This study sought to compare teacher participation in a Professional Learning Community with the performance of their students. Student achievement data from multiple subject-alike groups were compared preand post-PLC format, using an independent, two-sample t-test. Overall, 10 PLCs one high school suburban, Iowa setting compared. Mean scores 3 research questions that guided this found (1) 7 improved student learning after functioning as PLC, (2) no consistent relationship existed between PLC and failure rates, (3) correlation results effective (as measured by Aylsworth Survey) those did not meet criteria PLC. Based on findings study, implications for educational practice suggestions future include collaboratively vision PLCs, researching understanding implementation structures providing appropriate resources ongoing support (4) developing supportive leadership PLCs.
