摘要: Fatigue is the main source of almost half whole mechanical failures. This research investigated effect on cyclic fatigue behavior stainless steel 304 (SS304) when including carbon nanotubes (CNTs) at crack tip. The tests were conducted compact tension (CT) specimens to establish relationship between growth and number cycles (a-N). It found that incorporation a small amount CNTs increased life SS304/metal. Micrographs showed enhancement in caused by dense arrangement around tip, entangled with each other, finer grain size. Smooth bonding interface SS304 grains also observed.
