Base catalyzed novel rearrangement of steroidal [3,4- c ]furoxans

摘要: Abstract Furoxans are of medicinal interest as they possess different types biological activities. In an attempt to synthesize five membered heterocyclic rings fused various positions the steroid skeleton, a novel base catalyzed rearrangement was encountered in steroidal [3,4- c ]furoxans which remains unreported till date. The rearranged product ( 2 ) extensively studied by spectral analysis using DEPT, SINEPT, COSY, NOESY, HMBC, and HSQC. Structures two compounds 1 4 were confirmed single crystal X-ray crystallography. Similar could not be observed [16,17- ]furoxans. A plausible mechanism for said is also proposed.
