摘要: Objectives. We examined the prognostic significance of concentric remodeling left ventricle in patients with essential hypertension and normal ventricular mass on echocardiography. Background. An echocardiographic pattern has been associated clinical features increased cardiovascular risk, but independent value this finding hypertensive not established. Methods. Six hundred ninety-four ( 2 ) echocardiography were prospectively followed up for ≤7.7 years (mean 2.71). Baseline 24-h noninvasive ambulatory blood pressure monitoring performed all at time initial diagnostic evaluation. Concentric was defined by thickness septum or posterior wall divided radius end-diastole ≥0.45. Results. Prevalence 39.2%. During follow-up there 29 morbid events. Cardiovascular morbidity, expressed as combined number fatal nonfatal events per 100 patient-years, 1.53 overall study group, 1.12 subgroup geometry 2.39 that remodeling. After assessment association several covariates (age, gender, diabetes, index, mean clinic pressure) Cox proportional hazard models, risk higher group than (relative 2.56, 95% confidence interval 1.20 to 5.45, p Conclusions. ventricle, ≥0.45, is an important predictor
